From Friday 15th October, Angolan citizens residing in Rundu will have their ID card processed at the Consulate General of the Republic of Angola in this Namibian city. In addition to the attribution of the BI, the Angolan Consulate will also carry out a campaign to de-massify the civil registry. In Rundu, this diplomatic mission has registered more than 19 thousand citizens in its database. At the event that marked the start of this process, the General Consul, Oliveira Francisco Guilherme called on Angolans to update their documentation to avoid violating Namibia's immigration laws and to participate in the 2022 general elections, which will count for the first time with votes abroad in Angola. But for such an act, the diplomat warned the Angolans to adhere to the unofficial electoral registration process that in the diaspora will take place between January and March of next year. The new identification services can now also be carried out in the Kavango East and Zambezi regions, as well as in the Otavi and Grootfontein counties. With this act, the process of issuing the ID in the Diplomatic Mission of the Republic of Angola in the Republic of Namibia is completed, and the consulates of Windhoek and Oshakati have already assigned the ID since last year.
